The White Rose Grid at Leeds hosts one of the four core nodes of the National Grid Service (NGS), which offer a production quality e-infrastructure for use by UK academia. The service is funded by the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

NGS facilities are extended further through incorporation of a significant number of partners and affiliates resources (24 in November 2009).

The NGS can be seen as a collection of nodes offering a broad set of resources, delivering a heterogeneous and novel e-infrastructure for UK researchers.

Further information on the National Grid Service and details of how to register on this service are available at http://www.ngs.ac.uk.
