The White Rose Grid offers a stable high performance computing production service as well as the grid infrastructure for e-Science projects. It encompasses a large collection of Intel/Linux and Sun/AMD Opteron/Linux systems. There are four core WRG nodes, two at Leeds and one at each Sheffield and York Universities. They deliver a stable HPC service for local users as well as the e-infrastructure for e-Science projects. WRG systems support applications written in FORTRAN, C, and C++, implementing parallelism through MPI or OpenMP.

WRG Workshop

Training on use of WRG facilities is delivered through courses in the area of high performance computing (HPC) such as message passing (MPI) or parallel programming as well as e-Science seminars, workshops and talks, for example on the Globus Toolkit or the Storage Resource Broker.
